Click. Clack. Click. Clack. The footsteps came from somewhere down the long and narrow corridor. The horrid corridor was bright white, no stains on it. It was too white, with no decorations or windows. The tiny, neatly labelled rooms were shining white as well. Each one of these damned rooms were identical. The only difference in these rooms were perhaps different medical machines.

Click. Clack. Click. Clack. The footsteps were much closer now. It was eerie, hearing the footsteps amongst the silence. Who- or what- did they belong to? A child? Or a crazed murderer? Maybe even an dead person. No, that would be entirely silly. There's no such thing as ghosts. No such thing as zombies. Murderers and rapists, now those are real. Stop thinking these things, please!

The young man hugged his knees to his chest, shivering all over. His heart beat sounded oh so loud. The noise of his heart beat, plus his vibrant red hair, made him feel as if he were the centre of attention. 100% noticeable. 100% fucked. As the footsteps marched closer, he decided to take action. He jumped up, and fell back down shrieking in pain. He shrivelled up in a ball and lost conscious as the footsteps rounded the corner and soon came into the room.
